Traditional music without borders
\n<\/strong>F\u00e1sta are a trio of musiciens sans fronti\u00e8res who refuse to let the Atlantic sunder their love of their own and one another\u2019s Irish and Qu\u00e9becois musical traditions.
\nConnemara piper Fiachra O\u2019Regan and Qu\u00e9becois fiddler and pianist, Sophie Lavoie, return two years after their last fine collection, Rewind.
\nNow accompanied by Andr\u00e9 Marchand on guitar and foot percussion.
\nLavoie\u2019s contributions have grown in stature: her tune compositions are lithe and masterful, and her choice of songs is enough to captivate the most casual listener.
\nMost strikingly, the title tune, Un Canadien Errant bridges the gap between the Canadian rebellion of 1837-38 and today\u2019s horrors of exile, as experienced by refugees and migrants.
\nIt\u2019s refreshing to hear a traditional band reference the present with such subtlety and finesse.

Le trio trad F\u00e1sta (un mot ga\u00e9lique qu\u2019on peut traduire par \u00ab mature \u00bb) brille autant par l\u2019intensit\u00e9 de son \u00e9lan musical que par le raffinement de ses arrangements et de ses interpr\u00e9tations. Inspir\u00e9 par les traditions qu\u00e9b\u00e9coise et irlandaise, qu\u2019il fusionne en pr\u00e9servant leurs sp\u00e9cificit\u00e9s, F\u00e1sta fait dans le trad de qualit\u00e9 sup\u00e9rieure. Au violon, au piano, \u00e0 la voix et \u00e0 la composition, Sophie Lavoie, originaire du Lac-Saint-Jean, m\u00e8ne la charge avec brio, entour\u00e9e de son conjoint, l\u2019Irlandais Fiachra O\u2019Regan, ma\u00eetre de la cornemuse irlandaise et du banjo, et du l\u00e9gendaire Andr\u00e9 Marchand, qui caresse la guitare avec une gr\u00e2ce divine. F\u00e1sta reprend la chanson Un Canadien errant
\nLe lancement officiel, pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 par Michel Faubert, aura lieu le 8 janvier 2016 entre 18h et 20h, au CRAPO de Saint-Jean-de-Matha.
\nLe groupe F\u00e1sta, c\u2019est la rencontre rafra\u00eechissante et attachante entre un pilier de la musique traditionnelle au Qu\u00e9bec, une jeune violoneuse du Lac-Saint-Jean et un Irlandais multi-instrumentiste qui ont fait de leur nouveau port d\u2019attache la municipalit\u00e9 de Saint-Justin.
\nLes trois membres du groupe, Andr\u00e9 Marchand, Sophie Lavoie et Fiachra O\u2019Regan r\u00e9unissent sur l\u2019album Un Canadien errant des chansons en fran\u00e7ais et en ga\u00e9lique, des morceaux traditionnels irlandais et qu\u00e9b\u00e9cois, et des compositions de Sophie.
\nLa c\u00e9l\u00e8bre chanson Un Canadien errant, dont plusieurs se rappeleront les versions chant\u00e9es par Nana Mouskouri et Leonard Cohen, est adapt\u00e9e pour la premi\u00e8re fois au style traditionnel par Sophie Lavoie. L\u2019arrangement de la chanson est typiquement \u00e0 la F\u00e1sta. Un Canadien errant est encha\u00een\u00e9e avec le 6\/8 \u201cLe souvenir\u201d, une gigue pleine d\u2019\u00e9motions, que Sophie a compos\u00e9e pour terminer la chanson.
\nLors du lancement de l\u2019album le 8 janvier prochain, Andr\u00e9, Sophie et Fiachra seront accompagn\u00e9s par Daniel Roy et sa bombarde, ainsi que Michel Faubert qui lancera officiellement l\u2019album. (P.O.G)
